Hearview Lite Subtitle Glasses

Frequently asked questions

What is Hearview Lite?

Hearview Lite is a new generation of subtitle glasses made for the Deaf. The Hearview App converts speech into text and displays real-time captions inside the glasses.

Do I need a smartphone and the Hearview App?

Yes. Pair Hearview Lite with the Hearview App on your iPhone or Android phone to use live captions and manage your glasses settings.

Download the Hearview App.

Which languages does Hearview Lite support?

The Hearview App recognizes speech in 140+ languages and offers transcription and translation. Arabic captions support correct right-to-left text display.

Where do captions appear?

Captions appear inside the right lens. Hearview Lite uses a right-eye monocular display; it does not display captions in both eyes.

Can I choose the microphone?

Yes. In the Hearview App, choose either the glasses microphone or your phone microphone to capture speech for captions.

Can I adjust the caption position and text size?

Yes. Choose from six caption positions and three text sizes inside your glasses. These settings adjust the in-glasses display, not the position of captions on your phone.

Can other people see the green glow?

Hearview Lite reduces externally visible green light by approximately 90% during normal face-to-face use. A faint glow may still be visible from an extreme side angle or in certain lighting conditions.

Which frame styles are available, and how light are they?

Hearview Lite is available in Classic and Cat-eye frame styles, with a starting weight of approximately 28g.

See the available frame and color options.

Are the prescription insert and sunglass lens included?

Yes. A prescription insert and sunglass lens are included free with your Hearview Lite purchase.

Are custom prescription lenses included?

No. The included prescription insert is the frame that holds your prescription lenses. Take it to your local optician to have lenses made to your individual prescription; those custom lenses are not included.

How does Face-to-Face Communication work?

Type and send your message in the app, and it is converted into speech for the person facing you. Their spoken reply appears as text on your side of the screen. The opposing screen views let you communicate without repeatedly turning the phone around.

What are Floating captions?

Floating captions keep a subtitle window on screen while you watch videos on your phone, so you can read speech-to-text without leaving the video.

Can I review and organize conversations in the app?

Yes. Review saved conversation history, rename entries, and adjust the app transcript text size. Speaker segmentation can separate transcribed content from different speakers.

Where can I find delivery information?
